Chivalry seems to be on its last legs. As if it wasn't already next
to impossible to come across a chivalrous man, once they get married and
become husbands and fathers, they lose whatever precious little bit of
chivalry they ever possessed. And the age-old excuse: women want to be
treated equally, and that's what we're doing. What men fail to realise
is that women want equal rights and equal opportunities but they are
not the same as men. Chivalry doesn't mean just picking up the tab, which
men may have an objection to especially if the woman is earning just as
much as they do chivalry refers to other small courtesies and acts of
thoughtfulness which don't cost anything, but are what make the difference
between a man and a gentleman.
