It's that time of the year again, when love
is in the air and happy couples, florists and Archies store owners are
grinning from ear to ear. You may love Valentine's Day or hate it, but
you can't ignore it. So, as they say, if you can't beat 'em, you might
as well join 'em. Here are some great tips to help you jumpstart the romantic
bandwagon.
Great Expectations
Whatever you do, lay off the pressure. Don't expect your partner to
have something elaborate planned for Valentine's Day, and don't push your
partner to plan something either. You could give a gentle reminder, but
what works even better is if you are upfront and say something like - We
haven't been spending enough time together. Why don't we do something special
this Valentine's Day, just the two of us.
Something Special
This doesn't mean a six course meal at the priciest restaurant in town.
It could be something as simple as a candlelight dinner at home. And of
course - no kids, no television. Just the two of you. That's what's going
to make it special.
Talk
Talk about your feelings for each other, and how they have evolved over the years.
Clear the Air
This is also a good time to clear the air between the two of you. If
you've been hurt by something your partner said or did in the past, now's
the time to bring it up. Though we know that everyone makes mistakes, it
doesn't make hurtful words or actions any less painful. A sincere apology
will help you heal faster, and help you get rid of any grudges you've been
holding in your heart.
Date
When was the last time the two of you went for a real date, like a couple?
Do the works. Go for dinner, followed by a late, late movie, or shake a
leg at the nightclub. Or better still - visit a place that holds fond memories.
Perhaps it's the place you first met, or the place you went on your first
date. The visit will bring back fresh memories, and help strengthen your
bond.
Playing With Fire
Do you have a fireplace at home? Put it to good use! You will need:
Foot Massage
Who doesn't love a good foot rub? The feet contain more nerve endings than most parts of the body, and are especially sensitive to touch, so don't neglect the feet! Here's how to go about giving your partner a sensual foot massage:
