TOMATO CHUTNEY Recipe | Chutney/Dips Recipe by Priya |
| INGREDIENTS | 2 tsp chana dal
1 onion chopped
3 to 4 curry leaves
2 red chilles
1/4 cup tomatoes, chopped
1 tsp oil
Salt to taste
FOR TEMPERING:
1/2 cup mustard seeds
2 red chillies
1 tsp oil
Makes -1 cup | METHOD | 1. Wash dal & keep aside
2. Heat oil and add dal and stir till brown.
3. Add onion, curry leaves red chillies,turmeric powder and asafotdia and fry for one minute.
4. Then add chopped tomatoes. Fry for about 5 mins to soften them.
5. Put tomato mix into blender, add salt, a little water and grind to a paste.
The tempering:
Season the tempering over chutney. Refrigerate and use as required. |
