PRAWNS SUKKA Recipe | Main Course Recipe by Rajni |
| INGREDIENTS | Prawns - ½ kg
Onion - 1
Tomatoes - 1
Vinegar - to taste, just a little
Curry leaves
Green chillies - 2
Oil - 2 tsp
Chilly powder - 2 tsp
Grated coconut - 1 cup
Turmeric a pinch
Salt to taste | METHOD | 1. Clean the prawns. Wash them with a pinch of turmeric. Marinate the prawns with chilly powder and a little vinegar and keep aside.
2. Slice onions and tomatoes into fine pieces. Heat oil add onions and fry till the colour fades, then add the tomatoes.
3. Fry both till you get a sticky mixture. Then add green chillies, the remaining chilly powder, a pinch of turmeric, salt and half a glass of water.
4. When the water is about to boil, add the marinated prawns. Cook for five minutes if the prawns are medium sized and lesser if small.
5. Add grated coconut and curry leaves. Cook till the water evaporates. Tastes good with rice or chapathi. |
