ROLLY POLLY Recipe | Indian Sweets Recipe by GAYATHRI PREM |
| INGREDIENTS | 2 cups maida (medium)
½ cup sugar (small)
50gms badam (almonds)
50gms cashwenuts
50gms raisins
1cup (small) fresh grated coconut
2small elaichi (powdered)
2pieces of cloth (6 x 10 inches)
thread for tying | METHOD | 1. Knead maida mixing water and salt(to taste) to a dough, keep aside.
2. Mix fresh grated coconut, dry fruits and elaichi with sugar, keep aside.
3. Now make small balls of the dough and roll it (flat) into 2 thick (dusting maida flour if necessary), fill in the mixed ingredients and roll it sealing the edges tightly.
4. Now keep the rolly polly in a cloth and roll it tightly, at the edges tie a thread so that it does not spill, once ready put them in boiling water and leave for 5mins.
5. Once cooked remove immedieatly from water, allow to cool a little and then remove the cloth, rolly polly is now ready to serve. |
