BITTER GOURD CURRY Recipe
Main Course Recipe by Khajabegam


 45 Minutes  4-5 Persons

  INGREDIENTS
Bittergourd - ¼ kg
Onion - 1 big sized
Ginger - 1 inch
Garlic - 7 - 8 flakes
Coconut - 2 - 3 inch
Mustard seeds
Tumeric powder - ½ tsp
Chilli powder - 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Curry leaves

  METHOD
1. Cut the bittergourd into round slices. Add water, salt and turmeric     powder to it. Allow it to boil well.

2. When it is done, squeeze the excess water and put it in a muslin     cloth to remove the water.

3. Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry the bittergourd pieces till they     become brown.

4. Take 2 tbsp of oil and add mustard to it and allow it to splutter.     Then add onion and curry leaves to it and fry till brown.

5. Add ginger - garlic paste to it and allow it to fry. Add coconut     paste, chilli powder and a little water.

6. Allow it boil for some time. When it becomes dry, add bitter gourd     fried pieces to it. It tastes good with rice.
