| INGREDIENTS | Kabuli channa / garbanzo
Onion
Tomato
Garlic flakes
Garam masala powder
Red chillies
Oil
Salt | METHOD | 1. Soak channa overnight. Put it in the pressure cook till they turn soft. Divide the channa into two segments ¾th and ¼th.
2. Grind ¼th of the channa with onion, tomato optional), garlic, red chillies and garam masala to a smooth paste.
3. Heat oil in a pan, sputter with jeera. Fry tomato pieces for a minute and add the gravy.
4. Transfer to a pressure pan with the rest of the channa and cook till it reaches the point of the first whistle.
5. Garnish with coriander leaves and a splash of lime. (add salt while cooking the channa the first time). |
