COCONUT FISH CURRY Recipe | Main Course Recipe by Lathanair |
| INGREDIENTS | Big onion - 1
Tomato - 1
Tamarind extract
Coconut grated
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 2 tsp
A pinch of turmeric powder
Fish - 250 gms
Salt required
Oil - coconut / gingely oil | METHOD | 1. First cut the big onion and tomato lengthwise into thin pieces. Similarly cut the fish into medium peices.
2. Heat oil in a vessel, add onions first and fry. Add chilly, coriander powder and turmeric powder and fry in oil on low flame.
3. Then add half tomato to the masala and fry for 3 minutes. Add the tamarind extract and allow it to boil. Then add salt and fish pieces and keep it on low flame till cooked.
4. In a pan take half spoon oil and just heat the coconut and remaining tomato and grind it coarsely.
5. Add this mixture to the fish curry immediately. Let it cook for 15 minutes. Add little gingely oil to the curry with the last as curry leaves.
6. This is best to serve with hot rice and chappathis. |
