SPICY BITTER GUARD GRAVY CURRY Recipe | Main Course Recipe by suneetha |
| INGREDIENTS | Bitter guard -4
Onion -2
Tomato -2
Red chilies -4
Green chilies -3
Tamarind paste -2tps
Ground nuts -100 grams
Red chili powder 1 tps
Coriander Powder – 1tps (Dhaniya Powder)
Turmeric powder -1/2 tps
Cumin seeds
Coriander leaves
Curry leaves
Salt to taste
Oil
Water
| METHOD | • Remove the skin of bitter guard and cut each guard in to 3 or 4 pieces depending on the length of the guard and boil them by adding some salt and turmeric powder for about 30 mins.
• remove the water and drain them
• fry the ground nuts and Grind the fried ground nuts, red chili powder, coriander powder,1/1 tomato,1/2 onion
• take a pan add 3 tps oil and add curry leaves cumin seeds and when it starts popping up add red chilies ,green chilies fry them for 1 minute and then add chopped onions and fry them till they turn into brown .
• Add drained bitter guard pieces fry them for 2 minutes and then add tomato’s and ½ tps turmeric powder fry them for 5 minutes by covering the pan.
• Remove the cover and add grinded past, tamarind past, salt to taste and some water mix it well and allow it to cook until oil leaves the sides by covering the pan.
• Add coriander leaves just 2 minutes before taking it from the flame and cover the pan.
Spicy Bitter guard gravy curry it ready. You can have it with rice, chapatti and roti.
