PRAWNS BIRIYANI Recipe
Main Course Recipe by Nazia Mishal


 30-45 minutes  6

  INGREDIENTS
1. cleaned fresh prawns- 500 gms
2.oil-200 ml
3.coriander powder-2 table spoon
4.onion sliced-250 gms
5.basmati rice-500 gms
6.dalda or ghee- 100 gms
7.coriander leaves - 1 bunch
8.garam masala - 1 teaspoon

FOR MARINATING PRAWNS
1.chilly powder - 1 teaspoon
2.turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
TO GRIND INTO PASTE:
1.greeen chillies-50 gms
2.ginger-30gms
3.shallocks-30 gms

  METHOD
clean the prawns well.and wash them.marinate the prawns with chilli and turmeric powder, a half table spoon water and salt.Then take a pan and put oil into it and when the oil is ready for frying , fry the prawns in it.it should not be cooked too much.then keep aside the fried prawns.then put onion in the rest oil in which prawns had been fried.saute it then put the grinded paste into it .then add coriander powder mix well.add half cup water and salt.mix well.let it cook and become a thick gravy.then add prawns and coriander leaves and garam masala and mix well.when it thickens take the dish out and keep aside.

Clean the rice and wash and drain the water.take a thick bottommed pan and put ghee in it when it melts, add onion sliced and saute well.then add rice and saute well.then add boiled water into it.then close the pan.put in medium heat.when the rice boils.and is cooked off the gas. then remove the half the rice and put the masala prepared in the middle. and put the rest rice on the top.put it for somemore time around 5 minutes.then off the gas and serve hot
