with Kids at different ages
Cooking is something that
many children long to do. To help you decide what is right for your
child, we have written what aid your child can give you in cooking.
So, get ready to get into that kitchen and start cooking!

can stir ingredients in a bowl
-
wash fruits and vegetables

can add ingredients to a bowl
if supervised

can hold a portable electric
mixer with adult supervision. The adult should turn the mixer on
and off and control the speed while the beaters are in the bowl.

fill and level measuring spoons
and cups

can pour liquids into a measuring
cup

heat ingredients with a wire
whisk

can use a dull knife to cut
and spread soft foods, such as butter and jam

can use an electric can opener

learn how to use a microwave

prepare simple recipes with
very little help from an adult

use the oven; can learn how
to use oven mitts and where to place the hot dish after it is taken out
of the oven

use a knife with supervision

use a hand-held grater to shred
ingredients (warn your child to keep his knuckles away)

make recipes with many ingredients

use an electric mixer without
supervision

prepare recipes without supervision
(however, it is better if you are at home, while they prepare these dishes.
